Join us at the WA Museum Boola Bardip as we celebrate NAIDOC Week 2021 around this year's theme, Heal Country!

Join Andrew Beck, proud Ngadju, Mirning, Nyungar man from Esperance as he shares his knowledge, along with assistance from students from St Catherine’s College Dandjoo Darbalung program, about bush tucker, bush tools and Aboriginal culture and art.

Wednesday 11 August | Bush supermarket workshop

During the bush supermarket and tools workshops participants will:

  • Learn about NAIDOC Week and why it's important through a hands-on learning experience.
  • Learn about bush foods through a bush supermarket. 
  • Learn about and handle bush tools, how they are used, and how they are made using resources from Country.

Thursday 12 August | Art workshop

During the art workshop participants will:

  • Learn about NAIDOC Week and why it's important through a hands-on learning experience.
  • Create your own art piece on a small canvas to take home.
  • Learn about the importance of art as a way of telling stories in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through a creative experience.

This is a family friendly event – we encourage parents to create with your child, and enjoy the experience!
