Explore the connections between Aboriginal knowledge systems and Western science through case studies and exhibits within the Museum’s galleries.

This professional learning program offers a two-way approach to science, blending traditional ecological knowledge—including Aboriginal cultural insights about people, animals, and the environment—with Western scientific inquiry. It's an opportunity to explore scientific concepts through the lens of the world’s oldest continuing cultures.

During the program, you will:

  • Explore the parallels between Aboriginal knowledge and Western science
  • Tour the Museum’s galleries to observe case studies on the topic
  • Participate in hands-on activities to reinforce key concepts
  • Receive resources to support your teaching
