In this two-day workshop you will learn the basics of video game mechanics and how to design captivating characters, diabolical levels, and memorable experiences with guidance from our game expert.
Day one:
- What do you want your game to be? Brainstorming ideas for your game
- An introduction to Unity software
- Explore the Museum's galleries for inspiration including the Museum's temporary exhibition; Virtual Realms
Day two:
- Begin creating your very own game using Unity software
- Make sure that you bring along a USB to download on to
During this workshop, participants will:
- Explore the Museum's galleries for inspiration.
- Learn the basics of using Unity software
- Design your own game
After the workshop, you will leave with a copy of your game and instructions on how to continue to develop it in Unity at home.

Drop and leave programs
Drop and leave programs enable juniors to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest and access materials and resources that would not normally be available at home. All programs are managed and monitored by our experienced Learning and Engagement staff.
