Five new species of lizards from the Kimberley, Pilbara, and Northern Territory were recently described by a scientific team led by Western Australian Museum curator of herpetology Dr Paul Doughty.

Scientists from the Western Australian Museum have discovered a rare new species of gecko in the State’s Mid-West and will reveal it to the public for the first time at the WA Museum – Geraldton on Tuesday, October 22.

To celebrate the first day of the summer school holidays the WA Museum’s resident reptile expert will display a live, newly described skink species in the WA Museum’s Discovery Centre, Perth on Thursday 15 December at 9.30am.
