Kids, mums and dads, amateur scientists and community groups are being asked to pick up their mobile phones and head into their backyards and beyond to help save Australia’s native frogs.

Find out about frogs this week when Dr Paul Doughty, Curator of Herpetology at the Western Australian Museum presents two lectures in Broome and Kununurra as part of the Museum’s 2014 In the Wild West lecture series.

Hop over to the Western Australian Maritime Museum next Wednesday night and dive into the fascinating frog world of the Kimberley, when Dr Paul Doughty presents Wet and Wild: Frogs of the Kimberley.

A brand new educational resource that teaches WA children about WA frogs and their precious ecosystems – to be provided free to more than 800 WA schools – was launched at the Western Australian Museum today.

To celebrate the first day of the summer school holidays the WA Museum’s resident reptile expert will display a live, newly described skink species in the WA Museum’s Discovery Centre, Perth on Thursday 15 December at 9.30am.
