Looking for a creative outlet for your koolangka (child) these school holidays? Join us for free NAIDOC Week activities, from crafting lanterns to storytelling!

Craft lanterns to illuminate our Boola Bardip Bidi (trail) around the Museum, solving clues and answering questions along the way. Contribute to our evolving art piece, shaping a unique Australian landscape. Budding authors and artists can draw inspiration from their Bidi adventure or our special objects to craft a bardip (story) to take home. After all that creativity, a quiet moment may be needed to relax in our reading nook with beautiful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children's stories.

Join us for some fun, learning and cultural celebration on Level 1, next to our Special Exhibition Gallery these school holidays!

Weaving workshops with Sharyn Egan

NAIDOC Week

Join us at the WA Museum Boola Bardip as we celebrate NAIDOC Week 2024 and this year's theme of Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.

The 2024 theme encapsulates the unyielding spirit of our communities and invites all to listen, learn, and engage in truth-telling and meaningful dialogue. Through amplifying the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples we can forge a future where the stories and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are cherished and celebrated, enriching the fabric of the nation with the oldest living culture in the world.
