From Story to Showcase: Schools Design Thinking Challenge 2027
Empower your students to become creators, problem-solvers and storytellers in the schools design thinking challenge From Story to Showcase.
WA Museum Boola Bardip invites schools from across WA to take part in an exciting, school-based design journey, where students will transform a meaningful story or object from their own community into concepts for museum-worthy exhibits.
Working at your school, students will apply each stage of the Design Thinking process:
- Empathise with community voices and experiences
- Define the key message they want to share
- Ideate creative exhibit solutions
- Prototype their ideas
- Test and refine based on feedback
This hands-on program gives students ownership of the entire design process—from the classroom to a potential public audience.
Selected school projects will be invited to exhibit at WA Museum Boola Bardip during Design Week 2027, showcasing their creativity and the stories of their communities to museum visitors.
