Dr Moya Smith, Curator of Anthropology and Archaeology has been with the Museum for over 40 years. Moya's research has included working as an archaeologist with Aboriginal communities in the South West and Kimberley, but she also has an ongoing interest in the archaeology of countries around the Mediterranean rim. Despite digging in the UK and Jordan, Moya has never made it to Egypt, but working at the WA Museum has presented opportunities to engage with visiting international Egyptologists, travelling exhibitions of Egyptian treasures and unravel the stories of the Museum’s small collection of Egyptian artefacts.
