Kaya Wandjoo Club

About the program 

The WA Museum Boola Bardip welcomes visitors of all abilities. We aim to provide an inclusive, accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone. As part of our commitment to being an accessible museum, we are seeking expressions of interest from NDIS service providers who service communities of adults living with intellectual disability, to partnerwith us for the Kaya Wandjoo Club during 2027.

Kaya Wandjoo Club is a program created especially for adults living with intellectual disability. The program is designed to engage this specific demographic on a deeper, more accessible level with the gallery content at Boola Bardip.

The successful partners and their clients will be offered the chance to attend up to four activity-based facilitated visits spaced throughout the year, incorporating a tour of our eight permanent galleries, making them accessible in an appropriate yetengaging and enjoyable way. Our program can accommodate up to 20 participants including their support workers. 

The bi-monthly sessions will take about 1-1.5 hours each and will be held during Museum opening hours on a Monday or Thursday with our successful partner organisations. Sessions will be facilitated by trained staff and members of our volunteer team.

As a condition of participation, Kaya Wandjoo Club attendees will be required to join as concession members of Boola Bardip at the cost of $10 per person, which entitles them to unlimited general admission to the museum for 12 months thereafter. There will be no other fee for participants (unless visiting a temporary special exhibition) or for the successful partner organisation for the Kaya Wandjoo Club program.

About you 

The successful service provider will be expected to: 

• Be a registered NDIS provider.
• Commit to up to four sessions between February and November, 2027.
• Provide adequate support worker-to-client ratio of 4:1

Selection criteria

• You meet the required 4:1 client-to-support worker ratio.
• You can commit to attending each session booked with us.
• Can commit to the purchase of concession membership for each participant at the cost of $10 per person or a general admission ticket on the day (Companions are free)
