Learn how the popularity of motoring reshaped holidaying in Albany from the 1960s to today.

The rise of the motor car led to the invention of the motel, and Albany, like so many Australian regional towns, embraced the concept.

Chart the move of holidaymakers from traditional hotels and caravan parks to new-look motels and share some of these stories from Albany’s past and present.

Presented by Malcolm Traill, Research Associate at Museum of the Great Southern.
