After a sold-out season at the Western Australian Museum – Perth, Erth’s Dinosaur Petting Zoo will head port-side to the WA Maritime Museum, Fremantle for a roarsome encore season from October 1 - 14, 2012.
WA Museum chief executive officer Alec Coles said nearly 20,000 visitors attended the performances at the WA Museum – Perth and the public demand for additional shows was overwhelming.
“The public have spoken, and we’ve listened – we’re bringing back the dinosaurs!
“We are thrilled to present Petting Zoo at the WA Maritime Museum, giving the community of Fremantle and surrounding areas an opportunity to see the show closer to home,” Mr Coles said.
Dinosaur Petting Zoo is a captivating theatre performance featuring a cast of anatomically accurate, large-scale Australian dinosaur puppets.
Included in the show is the carnivorous Australovenator (meaning southern hunter) discovered in Queensland, and a plant-eating Titanosaur who, at up to 50 tonnes in weight and 30 metres long, are the heaviest creatures to have walked the Earth.
“The show brings together entertainment, education and science, and is another example of the WA Museum’s continuing commitment to providing dynamic and engaging programs,” Mr Coles said.
The Dinosaur Petting Zoo performances will be held at the WA Maritime Museum, Fremantle from Monday October 1 to Sunday October 14, 2012. Shows will run daily at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
Bookings are essential, and tickets are available online at www.museum.wa.gov.au/erth-dinosaurs with the added option of half price entry to the entire Maritime Museum.
