Join us for an educator preview of Welcome to Walyalup, a program that celebrates Nyoongar heritage and the deep cultural connections to the lands and waters surrounding Fremantle.

This program introduces hands-on learning experiences that help students explore the significance of Walyalup’s seasonal cycles and natural resources, as reflected in the Nyoongar Six Seasons. 

Students will also consider the importance of place through iconic Walyalup locations and discover cultural stories passed down through Nyoongar knowledge systems and storytelling traditions.

Welcome to Walyalup encourages learners to bring together key elements of their understanding of traditional Nyoongar culture within the unique context of the Walyalup Fremantle bilya, where land meets sea.
