Join Verity James and a panel of local speakers linked to the successful bid for the America's Cup in 1983 as they discuss their experience of the campaign.

With the team at the forefront, there were a host of people who participated in the campaign mounted to challenge for the America's Cup in 1983. Take a step back to the ambition and energy of the Australia II bid for a lively Q&A event with an inside perspective on this historic sporting triumph.  

'Where were you?' when the crew aboard Australia II sailed across the finish line in Newport, USA? These moments of sporting greatness can bring forth the Australian spirit in a unique way, with large crowds all over the country (and beyond) experiencing the joyful communion of national celebration.

Join John Longley and Skip Lissiman as they reflect on working towards this challenging goal, and their experience of the whirlwind of Australian excitement as the syndicate's fortunes turned on the sailing team's performance in the final race.
