There is a great big supermarket out there if you know where to look.
Join Auntie Dale Tilbrook for a special insight into bush foods, how to use them in the kitchen, and how to grow some of the ingredients in your own garden.
Dale Tilbrook shares cultural knowledge about how Nyoongar people could traditionally walk across the land informed by the six seasons, sustainably locating and harvesting food resources. Learn about some different native food and medicine plants, and sample some of the taste and smells of different bush tucker such as native fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs and leaves.
Try out some delicate native flavours, as Dale demonstrates how to use some bush tucker ingredients and techniques to prepare locally sourced fish in the kitchen at the WA Maritime Museum Function Centre.
