We are excited to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2022 with its theme of Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!
Enjoy fun activities including:
- A performance of Yirra Yaakin's Bilya Kaatijin,
- A cooking demonstration featuring fresh fish and Australian flavours with bush foods specialist 'Auntie' Dale Tilbrook,
- A sausage sizzle featuring kanga sausages and other tasty treats,
- Craft activities with NAIDOC raffia bead bracelets,
- Yarn turtles and flag fun, games, and more!
Explore the mystical traditions of mask-making and understand the significance of cultural dance and animal totems with a visit to the fabulous Evolution: Torres Strait Masks exhibition.
You can even make your own papercraft mask inspired by the Torres Strait Islander traditions of beautiful 'dance machines'!
