Celebrate Grandparents during Children’s Week!

We’re shining a spotlight on grandparents and we would love to hear why yours are so special. It's time to highlight the importance of intergenerational sharing that keeps cultural heritage vibrant and alive in the contemporary world.

Join us at our video booth event and get on camera to share why your grandparents are awesome! There's plenty of stories, gifts and traditions passed down from recipes and songs to skills and wisdom. We'll capture your memories and feature them in a community video released on Grandparents Day—the last Sunday in October.

Plus, take part in some cool activations happening on the day. Come along and tell us your thoughts about your family heritage.

Program

• Share your thoughts on your awesome grandparents | nonni in our video booth
• Talk by exhibition curator Nella Fitzgerald and special guests at 1pm
• A special Italian style coffee and cake offer from Caffissimo ($12 per person, see sample menu below. Preorder available)
• Explore stories of Italian migration to Fremantle through our Experience Plus digital guide on your own phone.
• Bring your young grandchildren to our Nonna's Storytime session at 11am
• Face Painting fun with Rosie O Face Painters
• Craft activities including make-your-own photo-frame and family tree
