Take a curated digital tour through Fremantle on our large curved screen with Andrew Woods.

Travel through time taking in sweeping vistas of Fremantle on the Fremantle Then & Now exhibition’s large panoramic curved screen with expert insights from one of Australia's most innovative engineers.

As you take a trip back in time to the beginnings of Fremantle in the late 1800s through to the modern day, you'll see and hear about unexpected aspects of the growing city through the eyes of panoramic photographers.

Associate Professor Andrew Woods, manager of the Curtin University HIVE visualisation facility offers special insights and will guide you on this unique digital tour experience. In 2017, Andrew was recognised as one of Australia's Most Innovative Engineers by Engineers Australia.

Andrew has a broad background in imaging and visualisation and was the technology lead on the Sydney-Kormoran Project which surveyed the wrecks of HMAS Sydney (II) and HSK Kormoran in 2015. Andrew was also the imaging lead for the survey of the wreck of Australia’s first submarine HMAS AE1 in 2018.

Be transported through time and learn about some of the interesting aspects of digital visualisation and technology before this award-winning exhibition closes.
