Viva Mexico! A fiesta of creativity at Museum of Great Southern

This summer, the Museum of the Great Southern transforms into a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture, inviting families to experience the joy, colour, and creativity.

From Friday 19 December 2025 to Saturday 31 January 2026, the Museum will be alive with hands-on workshops, playful activities, and cultural discoveries that promise to make these school holidays unforgettable.

Children can bring Frida Kahlo’s spirit to life in Frida’s Reflection, a mixed-media art workshop that encourages self-expression through bold colours and textures.

For those with a taste for adventure, the Mexican Cooking Workshop: Cocinar la Comida! invites families to roll up their sleeves and create authentic flavours; think cheesy quesadillas, zesty guacamole, and sweet piñata cupcakes for a true fiesta on your plate.

With every activity, families will discover the heart of Mexican culture, its warmth, creativity, and celebration of life.
