Archaeology blends the excitement of treasure hunting with the clever detective skills of a super sleuth.
In this program, you'll learn the tools, techniques, and methods used by archaeologists to unlock secrets from the past, with a special focus on the Terracotta Warriors. Learn how these incredible warriors were discovered and the challenges faced by archaeologists working on the site. Experience the excavation process, analyse and interpret artefacts, and then prepare them for a mini museum display.
What to Expect:
- Introduction to Archaeology: Learn the basics of archaeology and the importance of preserving history.
- History of the Terracotta Warriors: Discover the story behind the Terracotta Army, created to protect China's first emperor in the afterlife.
- Hands-On Excavation: Participate in a simulated dig by surveying, recording and accurately documenting artefacts.
- Artifact Analysis: Examine the discovered items and learn how archaeologists piece together the clues that reveal their history.
- Curate a Museum Display: Take on the role of a museum curator to create a small display of the objects for others to view.
Ready to discover the secrets of the past? Sign up today, we think you’ll dig it!
