Inspired by our special exhibition, Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor, the Ancient China Activity Zone invites families to explore thousands of years of Chinese history and culture through fun, interactive experiences.
Whether you're curious about ancient writing, music, or the every day lives of the First Emperor's people, this drop-in space offers something for all ages to discover and enjoy.
This is a free drop-in program – no bookings required.
Activities include:
- Painting with water on Chinese calligraphy cloth
- Using light pads to trace Chinese numbers and Zodiac symbols
- Warrior jigsaw puzzles and memory card games
- Dynasty timeline cards - match facts to dynasties
- Exploring the sounds of Chinese instruments using GarageBand on iPad
- Sensory play area
