Learn industry techniques in this three-day avian taxidermy workshop.
This workshop is designed to inspire and challenge you as you work with high-quality materials and learn from an expert in the field to gain the skills and knowledge to create your own piece of taxidermy to take home.
Under the expert guidance of Teori Shannon, this workshop focuses on the process of preserving and mounting a bird of prey. Scientific techniques covered include skinning, defleshing, skull ad scleral ossicles preparation, skin preservation, binding artificial body form making and natural positioning.
At the end of the workshop participants will take home a finished specimen.
This workshop is suitable for seasoned artists as well as curious beginners over the age of 15.
Participants are encouraged to bring along a pencil/pen and a notepad.
Students are welcome to bring along their own ethically sourced avian specimen (1 month prior notification required)
