Banksia Woodlands once stretched across Perth’s coastal plain, sustaining diverse life — including people.

Join Steve McCabe, Program Manager of ReWild Perth, as he explores the unique Banksia Woodlands (found nowhere else on Earth!) and the deep connection between people and its ecosystem.

Steve will share insights that celebrate both nature and collective action. Learn how initiatives like ReWild Perth allow for community-driven habitat restoration, drawing from traditional ecological knowledge.

Explore how Banksia Woodlands can be shaped by human hands through use, care and, now, regeneration.

Blending ecology, culture and storytelling, this session reveals why these woodlands are not just pretty landscapes, but how they offer connection, resilience and belonging in a rapidly changing world. Something we could all use a bit more of!
