Essential information before you book.

Do you like to dissect things? Aspiring to be a dissection detective? This is the workshop for you!

Join us for an exciting hands-on workshop where you will explore the fascinating world of squid and owls. Through the art of dissection, you will learn about these amazing creatures, their unique features, and their biology.

In addition to scientific exploration, you will use squid ink to create a unique piece of art to take home, combining science with creativity.

During this workshop, you will:

  • Develop your skills of observation, critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Under guidance, respectfully and carefully dissect a squid and an owl pellet
  • Observe and discuss the role of science and art in helping to record the natural world
  • Use squid ink to produce a piece of artwork to take home
  • Prepare owl pellet contents (small bones) to take home

National Companion Cards are accepted at the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Due to the nature of this workshop, companion card bookings should be made by contacting reception@museum.wa.gov.au.
