Dive Unders – after hours transforms the Museum into a vibrant late-night event designed exclusively for teens, combining live music, interactive experiences and after-hours access to the Museum in a safe and welcoming environment.
Across the evening, attendees can experience live performances from award-winning electronic artist Project Bexx and emerging Boorloo rock band Increment, alongside a photo booth and dedicated chill zones to relax and hang out with friends between sets.
Attendees will also have exclusive evening access to our current temporary exhibition OceanXperience,
Whether they’re coming for the music, the social atmosphere or simply looking for something different to do on a Friday night, Dive Unders offers young people a memorable night out in the heart of the city and a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of WA Museum Boola Bardip after dark.

Meet the line up
Project Bexx
PROJECT BEXX is an award-winning electronic producer, vocalist and DJ from Boorloo Perth.
Known for her high-energy live performances and bold electronic sound, she has performed alongside major artists including Peking Duk, What So Not, The Presets and Tame Impala, and recently returned from touring Sydney, Melbourne and the UK. Recognised as one of WA’s leading electronic acts, she has taken home multiple industry awards including WAM’s Best Live Electronic Act and WA Song of the Year in the electronic category.
Increment
Fronted by two best friends, Increment is an emerging emotional rock band from Boorloo WA.
The band blends the raw honesty of emo with songs rooted in nostalgia and friendship. With their debut album Get The Dog set for release later this year, Increment are building toward something bigger.

FAQ's for Parents
Dive Unders: after hours is for high school students aged 12–17.
Tickets are required, and attendees will be asked to show photo school ID or proof of age on arrival.
Ages 18+ will not be permitted.
Museum staff and security will be on site throughout the event to help everything run smoothly and make sure everyone has a safe, enjoyable night. Our staff have Working with Children Checks and first aid training.
Parent/carer consent is part of the booking process, and a no re-entry policy will be in place for the duration of the event. Should your teen choose to leave early, they’ll need to sign out and leave a contact number. Once they exit, they are no longer under the care of event staff.
Entry is ticketed, with capacity limits in place.
Dive Unders: after hours is designed as a teens-only experience, so adults won’t be able to access the main event spaces.
Parents and carers are welcome to drop off and collect attendees from the museum entrance.
There will be a waiting area if you really need to stay.

The Museum is located in the Perth Cultural Centre, just a short walk from Perth Train Station and nearby bus routes, making public transport an easy option for getting to and from the event.
Parking is available at the State Library car park, with drop-off access via Francis Street.
The following Terms and Conditions apply to Dive Unders: after hours at WA Museum Boola Bardip. By purchasing a ticket, registering an attendee or attending the event, attendees and their parent/adult guardian agree to the following conditions.
Registration and Consent
Dive Unders: after hours is a guardian-free event for young people aged 12–17 years. While parents/carers are not permitted within the main event spaces, the event is supervised by Museum staff, security and authorised event personnel.
A parent/adult guardian must complete registration and provide:
- Attendee full name and date of birth
- Parent/adult guardian and emergency contact details
- Relevant medical, allergy, accessibility or behavioural information
- Consent for emergency medical treatment if required
The Museum reserves the right to refuse entry where required information or consent has not been provided.
Entry and Departure
All attendees must hold a valid ticket and may be asked to provide school, student or age identification on entry.
Bag checks, sign-out procedures and other security measures will be used for safety purposes.
Parents/adult guardians are responsible for arranging safe transport to and from the event.
If an attendee becomes unwell, injured or unable to remain safely at the event, the nominated emergency contact will be contacted and required to arrange collection.
Behaviour and Safety
All attendees must behave respectfully toward other attendees, staff, performers and Museum property.
Bullying, harassment, discrimination, vandalism, physical aggression, unsafe conduct or inappropriate online behaviour will not be tolerated.
Museum staff, security and authorised event personnel will be present throughout the event. Attendees must follow all reasonable directions provided by staff and security.
Attendees will be removed from the event and a parent/adult guardian contacted if behaviour places themselves, others or Museum property at risk.
Quiet or wellbeing spaces will be available for attendees requiring support during the event.
Food, Drink and Personal Property
Water refill stations will be available throughout the event.
Where food is supplied, allergen information will be displayed where reasonably practicable; however, the Museum cannot guarantee allergen-free environments.
No outside food or drink will be permitted
Alcohol, vaping, smoking, illegal substances, weapons and prohibited items are strictly not permitted.
Attendees are responsible for their personal belongings. Bags may be inspected on entry.
Photography and Filming
Photography and filming may occur during the event for promotional, educational and media purposes.
Attendees are to inform the photographer if they do not wish to be photographed.
Attendees must not engage in inappropriate filming, photography or online behaviour that compromises the privacy or safety of others.
Medical Treatment and Emergencies
In the event of illness, injury or emergency, Museum staff will provide or arrange reasonable first aid and contact emergency services if required.
By registering for the event, parent/adult guardians' consent to reasonable emergency medical treatment being obtained where necessary.
The WA Museum maintains emergency management and evacuation procedures in line with venue safety requirements.
Liability
The WA Museum implements reasonably practicable safety measures, supervision processes and emergency procedures to support attendee wellbeing throughout the event.
By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, parent/adult guardians acknowledge that participation involves inherent risks associated with public events including crowd movement, noise, lighting effects and physical activity.
The Western Australian Museum, the State of Western Australia and their employees, contractors and agents are indemnified and released from claims arising from participation in the event, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

FAQ's for the Unders
It’s an under 18's, after-hours event at the Museum.
Expect live music, a high energy DJ, neon face painting, photo booth moments, chill-out spaces and after-dark access to explore the Museum.
Come with friends to listen to music, explore after hours or just spend the night hanging out somewhere new and different.
Doors open at 5:30pm and close at 8.30pm sharp.
Getting there when doors open means more time to explore and jump into everything that’s happening.
Bring your ticket and photo ID to check in.
If you do choose to leave early, you'll be asked to sign out and leave a contact number and there's no re-entry or passouts once you've left.
Entry will be refused if you appear under the influence.
Whatever feels most like you.
There’s no dress code — dress up, keep it casual or lean into the ocean vibe.
Just make sure you’re comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the night.
Keep it simple — you’ll just need:
- Your ticket
- Photo ID (school ID, learner’s permit or travel card)
- Your phone
- An empty refillable water bottle (optional)
Small bags are fine, but they may be checked on entry.
If you’re bringing a larger bag or backpack, it’ll need to be stored during the event.
That’s pretty much it. And yes, make sure your phone’s charged before you arrive.
The event takes over Level 1 of the Museum.
Some areas will be louder and more high-energy, with music, activities and plenty happening.
The exhibition space is a bit more relaxed, so you can wander through the interactive displays and check things out at your own pace.
Need a breather? There’ll also be quieter chill-out spaces if you want to take a break.
We want the night to feel fun, safe and easy to enjoy for everyone. Museum staff will be around all night, and if anything feels off or you need help with anything, just come chat to us.

There may be a photographer on the night too, so please let them know if you’d prefer not to be included in any photos.

Whether you’ve lost your things or your friends, need a break, feel uncomfortable, or just need help figuring something out - we've got you.
If you need your parent or carer to stay nearby, there’ll be a waiting area for them during the event.
Just a heads-up though — parents and carers won’t be able to enter the main event space.
Limited snacks and drinks will be on sale on the night but bring your card or phone as we don't take cash.
Prices range from $5 - $15.
If you have any specific dietary requirements, probably best to play safe and eat beforehand.
Free water refill stations will be available, and attendees are welcome to bring an empty reusable bottle.
