Reading can take you anywhere!
To celebrate the Premier’s Reading Challenge, join Drag Story Time.
Boola Bardip means 'many stories' in Whadjuk Nyoongar and what better way to celebrate this Premier’s Reading Challenge than with Drag Story Time! Fabulous Perth drag performer Cougar will read books by local authors (as well as some of her own favourite stories) at this free event suitable for the whole family to enjoy. Everyone is welcome to pull up a bean bag under Otto the Blue Whale in historic Hackett Hall, and be taken on a journey through stories.
After story time has finished, there will be an opportunity to meet and take photographs with the Queen.
Story Time starts at 10.30am. Suitable for the whole family.
Meet the Queen: Cougar Morrison
Cougar Morrison was the 2020 Entertainer of the Year and is one of Australia’s most exciting drag superstars (if you ask her mum). This self-proclaimed “Princess of Midland” is a singer, comedian & gender-illusionist who is passionate about making stories and imagination accessible to everyone. Cougar recently starred as Tick in “Priscilla The Musical”, and is also known for their work with The Perth Cabaret Collective, Dragqueen-Storytime, as a TEDtalk presenter, and as a host of Dragfactory at The Court Hotel.
Location: Stan Perron WA Treasures exhibition, Hackett Hall
