Onboard the R/V OceanXplorer (OceanX Live: Sabah)

During National Science Week 2026, we joined the crew aboard the R/V OceanXplorer for a livestream, OceanX Live: Sabah to celebrate our special exhibition OceanXperience. This high-tech research vessel was on a scientific mission in the ocean off Sabah, Malaysia and the scientists and engineers aboard showed us around the ship and explained what they do.

The R/V OceanXplorer allows a team of scientists and engineers to travel the world's oceans, gaining further understanding of this vast ecosystem and its inhabitants to assist with conservation efforts. The R/V OceanXplorer has an array of high-tech equipment such as ROVs and laboratories.
