Design a Trail to Uncover Hidden Stories!

As part of Perth Design Week 2025, students are invited to partner with WA Museum Boola Bardip to solve a real-world challenge using Design Thinking. While major exhibits capture most visitors' attention, many fascinating objects and stories remain overlooked.

In this hands-on program, students will design a short, self-guided trail that highlights these hidden treasures, enhancing the museum experience for future visitors. Through the Design Thinking process, they’ll define the problem, brainstorm creative solutions, prototype their ideas, and refine their trails. This engaging activity not only brings fresh insights into the Museum’s collection but also empowers students to make a lasting impact on the visitor journey.

Let’s uncover the stories that deserve to be seen!

Something new is coming for  Perth Design Week 2026!

Empower your students to become creators, problem-solvers, and storytellers through our Design Week 2026 challenge! WA Museum Boola Bardip invites schools to participate in an innovative design journey, encouraging students to apply Design Thinking as they transform meaningful stories or objects from their community into museum-worthy exhibits.

Through this program, students will practice each stage of the Design Thinking process—empathising with community stories, defining their message, ideating solutions, prototyping exhibits, and refining them based on feedback. Selected projects will be invited to exhibit at WA Museum Boola Bardip during Design Week 2026, sharing their work with the public.
