Bring your students along to this world-class exhibition, Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor!

Take them on a journey through the world of ancient China, observing daily life, delving into beliefs surrounding the afterlife and the incredible archaeological unearthing of the majestic terracotta army. Enter the world of Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of China, and explore the wonders of his enduring legacy. 

You will see spectacular artefacts from the Qin dynasty, including some of the famous Terracotta Warriors, and learn about the fascinating culture from everyday life to funerary practices. 

Discover how the monumental archaeological find of the Terracotta Warriors and the expansive tomb complex has provided fresh insights and perspectives on the beliefs, values, and practices of ancient China. 

Interesting for all ages, this exhibition will link strongly to Year 7 Ancient History studies, focusing on ancient China.


Booking Instructions

Self-Guided Visit

Explore Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor at your own pace. School groups are welcome to book into any of the daily public sessions. Please note that sessions have strict capacity limits, so bookings are subject to availability. Teachers attend for free at a 1:6 ratio, and additional adults are welcome to purchase tickets if space permits. 

To book your visit, click the ‘Book Now’ button below. Online bookings are limited to groups of up to 50 and must be paid for at the time of booking. Deferred payment is not available online for this option. 

For bookings requiring an invoice or for larger groups, please contact us directly with your group size, preferred date, and preferred time via education@museum.wa.gov.au or 1300 134 081.

Self-Guided Visit with Optional Introductory Talk (Years 3–12) 

Deepen your students’ engagement by adding a 30-minute Introductory Talk delivered by our incredible team.  
 

Students will be provided with historical and cultural information to build a deeper understanding of the exhibition, learn more about Qin Shihuang and be encouraged to think about their own legacy before exploring the exhibition in a self-guided capacity. 

Introductory Talks are available on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting August 6 (excluding school holidays), and must be booked at least three weeks in advance of your visit.  
 
Each session accommodates one class of up to 32 students. Teachers attend for free at a 1:6 ratio, and additional adults are welcome to purchase tickets if space permits.
