Voyager takes Western Australia to the Eurovision Song Contest!

Australia has had a long love affair with The Eurovision Song Contest stretching back to the first broadcast of the competition by SBS in 1983. In 2015 (despite not being a European country) Australia was invited to participate in the competition adding our voices to the stage. Since then the Australian fascination with the event has only grown and take pride in competing in each event.

A story of passion, perseverance and patience, Voyager have been throwing their hat in the ring for the Eurovision Song Contest since Australia first announced its participation in 2015. After eight years of perseverance, patience and fan support Voyager were finally chosen to represent Australia, and specifically their home state of Western Australia, at the 67th edition of the Contest in 2023 with their song 'Promise', an epic progressive pop metal masterpiece that takes listeners on an emotive journey of adventure and redemption.

Qualifying top of their semi-final, Voyager went on to place 9th in the Eurovision grand final after an electrifying, exhausting and life-changing four-month music and publicity campaign, returning home to sold-out shows, and the launch of a new album that made its way onto the official charts at home and abroad.

This exhibition showcases some memories, mementos, behind the scenes content, and artefacts and equipment from this epic Eurovision journey.

Voyager is Danny Estrin (vocals and keytar), Alex Canion (bass and vocals), Simone Dow (Guitar), Scott Kay (Guitar), and Ash Doodkorte (drums).
