Leonerasaurus taquetrensis was a species of 2.5-metre-long herbivorous dinosaur that roamed central Patagonia during the Late Triassic or early Jurassic period, approximately 200 million years ago.
A combination of primitive and advanced features makes Leonerasaurus a transitional, or intermediate form connecting the small early dinosaurs of the late Triassic with the giant, long-necked sauropods of the Jurassic and Cretaceous.
