The Love and Loss Live Tour, presented by THEATRE 180 in collaboration with WA Museum, offers a unique and exciting theatrical experience exploring extraordinary Western Australian stories at WA Museum Boola Bardip.
Combining live theatrical performances with a bespoke curatorial tour of our Reflections Gallery, the Love and Loss Live Tour explores stories of adversity, resilience, and comradery in the young WA colony.
Bringing to life excerpts from the selected works of THEATRE 180’s impressive catalogue including The Blackwood River Gliding by and Life in Their Hands, the gallery objects and stories are activated through a ‘studio style’ performance that provides historical context and personal insights into some of the Museum’s extraordinary collection.
Hear about early life in the colony through the correspondence between Ellen Stirling the wife of Admiral James Stirling, the first Governor of Western Australia and her close friend Georgiana Molloy who is considered the first botanical collector in the Swan River Colony. Experience the horrors and uncertainty of battle and understand the Homefront efforts in the interchange of letters between a soldier and his sweetheart that captures a moving story of love and loss.
Invigilated by our expert Museum guides, join THEATRE 180 and WA Museum as they take you through this unforgettable historical journey into the past.
