WA Museum's monthly LGBTQIA+ focused choir.

QUoir is a Community Choir for everyone and anyone who feels the need to shake off the stress of every day in communal song.

Presented by WA Museum Boola Bardip and led by the iconic duo Queency and Tara John of the WA Bad Ass Gospel Choir, this is a safe space for community, allies, families/inter-generational groups, and anyone who needs to flex their pipes!

QUoir is a little different to your regular. The soundtrack is comprised entirely of songs by queer artists and songs that have resonated with queer audiences throughout the decades. Think Madonna, Sam Smith, Robyn, Elton John, Tina Turner, Cher, Kylie Minogue - the list goes on!

Every second Wednesday of the month, the QUoir will come together at WA Museum Boola Bardip to rehearse and perform a different song.

Before you attend, read the frequently asked questions below and for any other queries, please reach out to reception@museum.wa.gov.au.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring?

This won't be catered and participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle. There will be plenty of seating and standing room available.

Do I need to have experience or a good voice?

Simply put - No! QUoir is for everyone, regardless of experience or ability. All you need is a can-do attitude.

Do I need to be a member of the LGBTQI+ community to come along?

No. QUoir is a fun, open and safe space for everyone. While the first six months of the program celebrate the LGBTQI+ artists of the pop/rock world, the choir will evolve over time to feature music from a diverse range of cultural perspectives.

Is there free parking in the city?

City of Perth parking is free after 6pm, the State Library parking at 15 Francis Street, Northbridge is the closest to the WA Museum Boola Bardip.
