Perth's brand new monthly community and family choir
QUoir is a Community Choir for everyone and anyone who feels the need to shake off the stress of every day in communal song. Led by Abbe May and the WA Bad Ass Gospel Choir, this is a safe space for the community, all families/intergenerational groups, diversity, and anyone who needs to flex their pipes!
QUoir is a little different to your regular choir. The entire soundtrack will celebrate music by diverse artists, specifically LGBTQI+ artists over the first six months of the program. Think Freddie Mercury, Janelle Monet, Jobriath, Sylvester, Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, Perfume Genius, Janis Ian, Anohni, Frank Ocean, Christine & the Queens, and the list goes on!
Every second Wednesday of the month, for the first six months of 2023, the QUoir will come together in Hackett Hall underneath Otto the blue whale to rehearse and perform a different song.
Before you attend, read the frequently asked questions below and for any other queries, please reach out to reception@museum.wa.gov.au.
