Join us for Drag Story Time to hear some uniquely Western Australian stories this WA Day.
Boola Bardip means 'many stories' in Whadjuk Nyoongar and what better way to celebrate many stories this WA Day than with Drag Story Time! Fabulous Perth drag performers Cougar Morrison and Perri Prism will read books by local authors (as well as some of their own favourite stories) at this free event suitable for the whole family to enjoy. Everyone is welcome to take a seat and be entertained with multiple sessions throughout the day.
After story time has finished, there will be an opportunity to meet and take photographs with the drag performers, make a badge to represent you and your own story, or to relax in the storytelling space and read a book yourself.
Story time sessions will take place throughout the day, beginning at the following times:
10.30am | Perri Prism
11.30am | Perri Prism
1pm | Cougar Morrison
2.15pm | Cougar Morrison
Suitable for all of the family.
Meet the Queens
Cougar Morrison
Cougar Morrison was the 2020 Entertainer of the Year and is one of Australia’s most exciting drag superstars (if you ask her mum).
This self-proclaimed “Princess of Midland” is a singer, comedian & gender-illusionist who is passionate about making stories and imagination accessible to everyone.
Cougar recently starred as Tick in “Priscilla The Musical”, and is also known for their work with The Perth Cabaret Collective, Dragqueen-Storytime, as a TEDtalk presenter, and as a host of Dragfactory at The Court Hotel.
Perri Prism
Perri Prism is a Multi Faceted Dream Queen with a background in Performance and Music who has lit up rooms all around Western Australian, Metro and far Regional.
She’s a scene Queen that loves to turn a look - from Fantasy Fashionista to Hot Star Girl, this celestial light will leave a big bright smile on your face!
She loves all things queer, gay and rainbow. Underneath is a quirky, ginger trans girl that loves trying different recipes, making pop music and has a interest for Japanese culture.
