David O’Sullivan

Assistant Curator, Maritime Heritage

 

David O’Sullivan is a maritime and social historian that has worked both domestically and abroad in the museum and cultural heritage sector. A primary interest and expertise area for David is historical research on heritage vessels.

He has worked both on the Australian Register of Historic Vessels and with National Historic Ships UK. With a background in radio production, David has experience in oral history collection and is particularly skilled in community consultation and regional engagement work. 

He has worked on interpretive and archival projects with regional museums in NSW, WA, and the NT, and conservation projects collaboratively with shipwrights, naval architects, and boat builders.
