Create your very own beautiful crystal rock to take home and admire!
These school holidays, we are taking inspiration from the naturally occurring geode with a make-your-own crystal rock activity for all our young visitors.
A geode is a hollow rock lined with an inside layer of sparkling crystals. On the outside, geodes appear nondescript and are easily overlooked. When you crack them open, a geode will display an array of colourful crystals. A geode can take thousands, even millions of years, to form naturally.
Thankfully, you can make your own at the Museum during these school holidays in a few minutes!
Choose a hollow rock and a colour for your crystals, and carefully create your cluster with the help of our Museum's ‘craftologists.’
