Join Dr Mikael Siversson, Head of Earth & Planetary Sciences at the Western Australian Museum as he unveils what it takes to prepare ancient fossils after discovery.
Dr Siversson organises annual fieldtrips to remote parts of the Gascoyne in search of skeletons of extinct marine reptiles from the Cretaceous period.
An exceptionally diverse reptile fauna comprising turtles, ichthyosaurs and multiple plesiosaur species has recently been discovered in the northern part of the region.
Hear from Dr Siversson as he explains the discovery, excavation and laboratory preparation of these amazing fossils.
