Join us these school holidays for a colourful celebration of creativity, self-expression and imagination. 

From discovering hidden shapes around the Museum to meditative art practices, printing your own statement clothing and sewing colourful happy flags, there’s something for curious and creative minds of all ages.

Be inspired by Costarella and explore different ways to express yourself through art, making, colour and hands-on activities.

School holidays activities

These are drop-in activities running all day during opening hours, so families are welcome to join in anytime that suits.

Drop-in Soul Circle Studio | Free
Tue 29 Sep, Thu 1 Oct, Tue 6 Oct, Thu 8 Oct | 9.30am – 12pm
Suitable for ages 5+, adults and families
Combine a simple abstract creative process with guided mindfulness, creative reflection and observation exercises with artist Lynda Howitt. 

Museum Trail: Silhouette Scramble  | $1 per trail
Sat 26 Sep – Sun 11 Oct | 9.30am – 3pm
Suitable for ages 5+
Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes, and so do the objects in the Museum! Take a walk around the Museum and look closely, can you find these objects from just their silhouettes alone?

Workshops

Print my threads | $10
Sat 3 Oct | 11am – 12.30pm, 1pm – 2.30pm
Suitable for ages 10 - 18
Join local printmaker Lizzy Robinson for a printing frenzy and turn your plain piece of clothing into a one-of-a-kind statement! 

Happy Flags | $10
Wed 7 Oct | 11am – 12pm, 1pm – 2pm
Sat 10 Oct | 11am – 12pm
Suitable for ages 10 - 18
Join the local Boomerang Bags crew to sharpen your sewing skills to make a colourful string of ‘happy flags’ that are perfect for brightening up a study desk or playroom, all while saving textiles from landfill.


Participants aged 12 and under must be directly supervised by a parent or guardian.
All required materials are provided.
