Join us with an open heart as we listen deeply to discuss the themes the 'Silence Listening' project has revealed.
As part of exhibition 'Silence Listening: A Midwest Truth Telling Exhibition", you are invited to participate in a Talking Circle. All are welcome to these events.
Talking Circle: Honouring the work of the late Uncle Dr Brian Dodd McKinnon
Sunday 22 June 1pm – 2pm
Facilitated by Crystal McKinnon and Ron Bradfield Jr, this talking circle will be an opportunity to discuss Uncle Dr Brian McKinnon’s painting series ‘I Used To Walk So Softly On This Land’ and an opportunity to honour his life and legacy.
Talking Circle: Colonial Silence and Truth-telling in Family
Monday 23 June 1pm – 2pm
Facilitated by George Criddle, Dr Amy Spiers and Dr Ashley Barnwell, three non-Indigenous researchers based in Naarm (Melbourne) share their ways of disclosing colonial silences and evasions in an attempt to open up generative spaces for truth-telling about the Australia’s violent colonial past.
Talking Circle: Jambinu Guwa
Sunday 29 June 1pm – 2pm
Reflecting on recent events and cultivating connections, this talking circle will be led by a local facilitator from Jambinu Guwa.
