Young artists share their stories, culture and creativity in this inspiring collection shaped by guidance from respected Elders.
Ninety-five local Indigenous and non-Indigenous young people, aged 10 to 17, came together to create a powerful collection of paintings under the cultural guidance of respected Elders, Nanna Rosalie Jones and the late Nanna Max (Maxine Gregory).
Supported by facilitators Kelly Robertson (Youth, Family & Community Services Manager) and youth mentor Nikita Dann, the young artists explored their heritage and personal stories through Bundiyarra’s Indigenous Youth Connection to Culture (IYCC) program, proudly funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
Through this journey, participants were empowered to express their identities, connect with Elders, and deepen their understanding of who they are and where they come from. The IYCC program works with youth aged 10 to 25, fostering cultural connection, self-discovery, healing, yarning, language immersion, and pride in their roots.
