Learn how telegrams spread the news surrounding the Pitman and Walsh story.
Just hours after the bodies of Pitman and Walsh were discovered on the morning of 10 March 1926, the story appeared in the Daily News in Perth.
A remarkable feat considering the reporters did not have mobile phones, internet or even telephones.
Join Kylie Elston, History Curator at the Western Australian Museum, as she uses telegrams in the Museum’s collection to show how this gruesome murder became a sensational story around Australia and the other side of the world.
