Step into the world of Spiders as you learn about some of the amazing discoveries being made in the State.
They may be the source of many phobias, but spiders are an important part of the ecosystem! Hear from the Museum's very own Spider-Man in a light-hearted yet factual guide to some of the fascinating spiders found in the Goldfields.
About the Speaker
Dr Mark Harvey is a Curator at the Western Australian Museum, where he looks after the arachnid (spiders, scorpions, etc.) and myriapod (millipedes, centipedes, etc.) collections. He’s studied arachnids and myriapods in many different parts of Australia and the world and has described nearly 800 new species during his career. Mark is passionate about conservation and wants to ensure that spiders and millipedes receive appropriate conservation attention.
