Join writer Rosemary Argue for a creative writing workshop.

Exploring the power of place and setting in poetry and prose, learn how to develop compelling characters within richly imagined worlds, and explore narrative techniques that elevate your storytelling.

Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, this workshop offers a welcoming space to experiment, reflect, and discover new ways of expressing your voice on the page. It's a great chance to get started on your creative submission to the 200 Years, 200 Words writing competition.

Come write with us, reflect on Albany’s evolving identity, and add your voice to its story.

About the facilitator

Rosemary Argue has been a creative all her life, drawing, painting, choreographing and designing and making costumes before now writing stories, true and fictional. After realising that teaching high school science was not for her, she segued into science and general communications. While completing a professional writing course she discovered writing fiction gave her a voice to shine a light on her passions: nature and Australian history.

One of her first short stories won the Langhorne Creek Writers’ Festival short story prize. Since then, her short stories have received highly commended in competitions and been published in anthologies in three states. She is also writing a young adult historical novel set in part in Kinjarling (Albany) which she began writing as Artist in Residence at Vancouver Arts Centre with the support of the Museum of the Great Southern and Albany Library.
