Southern Art & Craft Trail

A celebration of creativity, innovation, and environmental consciousness through art.

Spanning more than 35,000 square kilometres, the Southern Art and Craft Trail is the largest of its kind in Western Australia. It showcases the creative work of over 600 artists, and more than 400 students across over 50 venues - including galleries, home studios, town halls, and schools.

Explore a wide variety of artforms from regional artists, including painting, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, printmaking, photography, woodwork, jewellery, glass art and more. Meet the artist in their studio for a more personal and multi-layered experience, and get a deeper insight into their creative process.

The following artists will be exhibiting at the Museum of the Great Southern for the 2026 Southern Art & Craft Trail:

• Nadja Roelofs & Talarah Pedrocchi Roelofs

  Through individual and collaborative works, mother and daughter explore sea, nature and ancestral connection, creating tactile pieces shaped by memory, heritage and a shared reverence for the coastal environment.

• Julie Fletcher & Ros Jenke

  Julie and Ros are excited to share their latest paintings, featuring mainly local landscapes, seascapes and buildings. Having exhibited many times in the Southern Art + Craft Trail, their artwork is always popular.

• Cynthia Orr

  This new collection of contemporary landscapes reflects Cynthia’s intuitive response to the environment, plus works of pattern and design, unique only to her as an artist. Be immersed in this expressive exhibition.

• Rose Chapman-Hill

  An exhibition of original, unique prints. Rose continues her exploration with printmaking and this year along with her new lino prints, she will have some collagraph and dry point etching prints on display.

• Adventures in Wood: Metalwork, Woodwork

  A wonderful exhibition of bush furniture, coffee tables, handcrafted knives, woodturning, painting, leather work and a variety of handcrafted items made from local timbers. Adventures in Wood is a group of woodworkers and others of a like-minded persuasion who come together once a year to exhibit in the Southern Art & Craft Trail. The group’s members include a retired veterinary surgeon, a Vietnam veteran and boat people from Britain and Holland. The rest are descended from convicts and wardens.
