Join us for an engaging curatorial on the fascinating history of Albany's Pilot Station, a key player in the region's maritime heritage.

Discover how shipping pilots have been expertly guiding vessels through Albany’s waters since the 1830s, and learn about the significant milestone in 1853 when permanent housing was finally built for the pilot crew. These heritage-listed buildings, still standing today, tell the story of the people who shaped Albany's seafaring legacy.

As we delve into the past, we’ll also discuss future plans to convert the heritage-listed buildings into interpretation and recreation venues for visitors.

Presented by Malcolm Traill, Research Associate, Museum of the Great Southern.
