Free | Gold coin donations are welcome
Location
Offisite: Porongurup Hall, 2257 Porongurup Rd Albany
Discover the history of the Porongurup Range and the community efforts that led to its protection as a National Park 100 years ago.
In the early 1920s, growing concerns about grazing and logging pressures prompted calls to preserve the range’s magnificent karri trees and natural beauty for future generations.
Learn about the range’s significance to first people, who have known and cared for this Country for thousands of years, and its place in the region’s history. The talk will explore the people, events and conservation efforts behind the National Park’s establishment, marking a century of protection for this remarkable landscape.
Enjoy tea and coffee following the talk.
Presented by Lucia Quearry with Friends of the Porongurup Range.
Please note: This Curatorial will be held offsite at Porongurup Hall, 2257 Porongurup Rd Albany
