Classical Clues: Investigating Agatha Christie’s Musical Passions

Hear about the surprising role music played in the life and work of Agatha Christie. Long before she became the world’s most famous crime writer, Christie was a talented pianist who dreamed of becoming an opera singer and her love of music never left her.

Careful detective work runs to ground the references to music in her crime (and other) novels, interwoven into plots. Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot both betray an interest in musical matters.

Presented by Andrew Green, writer, BBC broadcaster/producer, Senior Research Fellow (and Hon Fellow) at the University of Hertfordshire.
