Discover Australia's first native-born explorer, Phillip Parker King at our Tuesday Curatorial.
As Australia’s first native-born explorer, King holds a unique place in our national identity. He also visited King George’s Sound three times and his journal entries give us an understanding of the Menang Noongar lifestyle before Europeans settled here.
