This summer, the WA Museum Boola Bardip will transport visitors millions of years back in time with Dinosaurs Uncovered, a world-premiere exhibition that combines real fossils, immersive technology, interactive experiences and life-sized prehistoric reconstructions.
Opening on 21 November 2026, Dinosaurs Uncovered invites visitors to step into ancient environments and discover how scientists uncover, interpret and reconstruct the animals and ecosystems that once dominated our planet. Developed by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in partnership with AGB Creative, the exhibition blends authentic fossil material with engaging digital experiences to bring prehistoric worlds to life.
Visitors will explore immersive environments, interactive fossil dig sites and cutting-edge digital recreations that reveal the stories hidden within prehistoric remains. Along the way, they will discover the science behind palaeontology and how researchers piece together fossil evidence to understand the past.
A highlight of the exhibition is a full-sized reconstruction of Quetzalcoatlus northropi. Standing approximately five metres tall, the striking model will be displayed alongside skeletal reconstructions of a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex and a Plotosaurus, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience these remarkable prehistoric animals at scale
The exhibition will be supported by a season-long public program featuring expert talks, guided tours, school holiday activities and special events. Adults can also enjoy Late Nights at Boola Bardip, a weekly Friday evening series combining after-hours exhibition access with live music, artist residencies, short talks and creative experiences.
Dinosaurs Uncovered will be on display at the WA Museum Boola Bardip from 21 November 2026 to 26 April 2027. Tickets go on sale to the general public on 22 October 2026, with WA Museum Members receiving exclusive pre-sale access from 20 October 2026.
