The Western Australian Museum – Perth played host to the Foreign Minister’s Dinner as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) events hosted in Perth in late October.
The dinner was held in the newly refurbished Hackett Hall Gallery, recently launched as an exclusive venue hire space.
On 26 October guests were wowed with extravagant themeing, by Natural Art by Rebecca Grace, lighting design and production by OMG Events by Tony Salom and exquisite food by Heyder & Shears Exclusive Catering.
With high ceilings and multiple levels to work with, OMG Events were able to create amazing lighting. Hundreds of led light candles scattering the upper balconies provided an intimate mood for the 60 plus guests.
The perimeter of the room was covered with a mixture of black and red velvet draping adding to the ambience of the classical Victorian elegance. This was juxtaposed to the contemporary styling of crystal-clear polycarbonate Victorian Ghost Chairs, a modern take on the classic Louis XV style chair.
The WA Museum’s Director of Commercial Operations, Jason Fair said the newly refurbished venue space was one of the most unique venues in Perth and was pleased that it was utilised in this way for such a high profile event.
“Hackett Hall Gallery allows for functions and events from gala dinners, exhibitions, fashion shows, cocktail parties and corporate events, for up to 550 people,” he said.
The architecturally and historically significant space, once used as the State’s Library, features finely crafted stone masonry brickwork and high ornate ceilings.
“The space is available exclusively for function bookings from 1 October through to 31 December each year, however may be available upon request, at various times of the year,” said Mr Fair.
“It really is a one-of-a-kind venue, so we urge people wanting to hire the space to book in as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment.”
