Make your event a piece of history this holiday season

Imagine holding your unforgettable event right in the centre of history’s memory chambers – in one of Western Australia’s iconic Museum sites.

The Western Australian Museum has a range of first class venues available for you to stage an absolutely unique Christmas party or corporate event.

At the WA Museum – Perth, the stunning Hackett Hall Foyer with its extraordinary design and towering glass atrium offers the ideal location for a sophisticated evening or cocktail event.

Also available is the recently refurbished Hackett Hall Gallery.  This architecturally and historically significant space, once used as the State’s Library, features finely crafted stone masonry brickwork and high ornate ceilings.

The WA Museum’s Director of Commercial Operations, Jason Fair said the newly refurbished venue space was one of the most unique venues in Perth and was pleased that it was now available as a venue space.

“The space is available exclusively for function bookings from 1 October through to 31 December each year, however may be available upon request, at various times of the year,” he said

Hackett Hall Gallery allows for functions and events from gala dinners, exhibitions, fashion shows, cocktail parties and corporate events, for up to 550 people.

Also available at the WA Museum – Perth, is the Woodward Boardroom and Tunnel Theatrette that provide spaces for meetings and workshops close to the CBD and public transport.

At the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle, you will be amazed at the unique space available to hold an event like no other with the Australia II gallery now available for function bookings.

Australia II is the famous yacht that won the America’s Cup from the US in 1983, and a highlight of the WA Maritime Museum at Fremantle.

Yacht lovers, ocean lovers, or those just wanting an occasion with a difference, now have the chance to hold their spectacular event beneath the iconic white curves of this famous symbol of Australian sporting success.

The Maritime Function Centre and Balcony is also available, which offers spectacular waterfront views and a striking Western Australian setting where guests will enjoy the grandeur of uninterrupted views of Fremantle Harbour. Glass walls to the south frame the imposing height of the pearl lugger Trixen and the dramatic display of Western Australian artefacts.

Also available at the WA Maritime Museum is the Kailis Family Board Room, the Temporary Exhibition Gallery, the NWS Shipping Theatre and the Entrance Foyer.

Clients can also combine their end of year staff celebration or networking event whilst enjoying the atmosphere of the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships.

The harbour course, directly adjacent to the Maritime Museum, will be used to decide the Women’s Match Racing World Championship.  Races are held daily from 3 to 12 December, from 10.00am-6.00pm, with the Gold Medal final on 16 December.

“The unique and stunning locations in both Fremantle and Perth will leave guests with a lasting impression,” said Mr Fair.

“A Museum venue space is a unique alternative to traditional hotels or function centres.”

Customers can request a guided tour or view the feature exhibition to make the occasion truly special. The Perth Museum is currently exhibiting Extraordinary Stories from the British Museum, while Immerse: Exploring the Deep is on display at the Maritime Museum. Both exhibits run until early 2012.
